About Me
My name is Bella Brown, and I am an internationally acclaimed harpist currently residing between the Isle of Wight and Oxford. I have accumulated over 11 years of dedicated study in the field of music, complemented by 2 years of professional experience in the events industry. Since the age of 8, I have been a member of the National Youth Harp Orchestra of Great Britain, which has significantly contributed to my development as a musician. I take pride in being one of only two professional harpists residing on the Isle of Wight. My experiences as a harpist have been profoundly rewarding and have fundamentally transformed my life. I faced considerable challenges early on, having been born with a hearing impairment and diagnosed with a rare medical condition that required frequent hospital visits until the age of 12. I did not begin speaking until my 4 birthday due to my hearing impairment.
Additionally, I have learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dyspraxia and processing issues. Despite these challenges, I managed to achieve 5 GCSEs and subsequently pursued a BTEC in Music Performance at Platform 1, where I am on track to receive predicted grades of A* A* A. The harp has been instrumental in facilitating my passion for music. Throughout my career, I have received five awards for both duet and solo performances and have garnered recognition for my business endeavours and photography. My association with the National Youth Harp Orchestra commenced when I was 8 years old, and my inaugural tour took me to Italy. At the age of 12, I had the privilege of performing a solo at G Live in Guildford, where I captivated a sold-out audience of 1,000 individuals. I was selected as one of four soloists representing various schools in Surrey. My first paid gig was at age 12 when I played for a professional football agent at his housewarming and for many famous footballers. Five years later, he called me to play at his wedding in Morocco in May 2024! I have consistently strived to turn my aspirations into reality through dedication, hard work, and passion for my craft. To date, I have visited 9 countries and performed across three continents. I would like to acknowledge the invaluable support of my mother, Kacy Brown, to whom I dedicate my achievements. Without her, none of this would have been possible.
